I admit, the title of this blog (The 333 Story - Next!!) post is a little different. However, by the end of the blog post, you will understand the meaning of the title and how we can apply this lesson to our lives.
As most of you know, I am always reading Personal & Spiritual Development books, taking training's, attending seminars, and continuing learning and upgrading myself. I firmly believe we can not grow if we don't feed ourselves. Just like if we don't feed our physical bodies with food and water, we will not be able to grow and sustain ourselves physically. It's the same way with personal & spiritual development. We simply will not grow if we don't continue to feed ourselves on a personal & spiritual level.
So I make it a point to always be reading something or taking some training to upgrade my brain and knowledge. I have noticed, that sometimes out of an entire book, one line will make a HUGE difference in my life. So you just never know what in a book or a training/seminar will be the ONE thing that will change your life.
The 333 Story
In the book "You Were Born Rich" by Bob Proctor, in one of the last chapters of the book, he talks about this special story. He was doing a seminar in Deerhurst Lodge which is a resort approximately 100 miles north of Toronto. On that Friday night, a devastating tornado swept through Barrie, Ontario which is a town about 30 miles south of the resort where Bob was speaking. Many lives were lost and the tornado did millions of dollars of damage.
On his way home that Sunday night, Bob Proctor stopped his car and got out to view the devastation. It was a total mess with smashed cars and houses. Ironically, that same night, another gentleman by the name of Bob Templeton was driving down the same highway. He also stopped to look at the disaster, however his thoughts were different than Proctors.
Mr Templeton was the VP of Telemedia Communications which was a company that owned a string of radio stations. As he stood there, he thought to himself, there has to be something that he can do to help out this unfortunate town and its people.
The next night Templeton and another business associate of his attended the seminar being held by Proctor. He was evaluating whether Proctor would be a great fit for their company to reach their goals and there was no question about it that, indeed Proctor was the answer to their desires.
Templeton loved Proctors ideas and became fascinated with the Law of Polarity (also referred as to the Law of Opposites). This law simply states there is always an opposite. You can't have cold without hot. You can't have an up with out a down. In the same manner, if you can figure out reasons why you can't do something, you can certainly come up with reasons why you CAN.
Next!!
Mr Templeton gathered all of his executives and decided that he was going to raise 3 million dollars, 3 days from now, in just 3 hours and give the money to the people in Barrie. He asked the executives if they would like to do this? One of the executives said "Templeton, you are crazy. There is no way this can happen!"
Templeton responded, "I didn't ask if it can be done or not, I only asked if you would like to do this? " So they all said yes noticeably with some skepticism. Templeton drew a T on a flip chart. On one side he wrote "Why We Can't". On the other side, he wrote "Why We Can". On the side with "Why We Can't" he drew a big X. He explained that if we come up with any reasons why we can't, someone else in the room would say "Next" (meaning, lets continue finding reasons why we CAN do this).
After a few suggestions that started, there were a few "Next". However, after a few, everyone started focusing on all the reasons why they could do this.
The Result
The suggestions poured in and finally they all came up with a plan. That was Friday. The following Tuesday they had a radiothon, where 50 radio stations, from across the country agreed to work together for this cause. With this joint harmony of vibration, they achieved the "impossible" and raised 3 million dollars, in 3 hours within 3 business days.
In this world of opportunity, there are no impossibilities. The only limitations are the ones we place on ourselves.
For all those dreams and desires in our heart. What if they can actually come true? What's stopping them from happening? Sometimes we are our worse enemy - we stop ourselves with fear.
So next time you start thinking of ways why you can't do something, remember this story and say "Next!!" and start thinking of ways why you CAN!

PS. Interestingly enough, when I finished this post and hit published and moved on. I looked at the time and guess what time it was? 3:33.
